Why This Module is Important:
- We uncover the core features offered by various Etsy tools and start to sort through the jumble of multiple tools and functionalities.
- We see why this program is structured the way it is (with more details to follow in the next Module).
What Features Do Paid Etsy Tools Offer?
After identifying all the Etsy research tools, the next step was to cross-reference them to find their core features—the common threads running through them.
After a lot of digging, the core features fell into two categories: RESEARCH and OPERATIONS:
- Research – information relevant to the Etsy marketplace.
- Operations – information relevant to the subscriber’s own shop(s).
These are the two features at the heart of our Etsy research tools—the main reason for subscribing. There are many non-core features sprinkled across the tools—from profit calculators to hashtag generators—but these are really incidental (and probably there mainly to differentiate each tool from its competitors).
The numbers in the circles are the number of tools that offer that feature.

Next Module
To complete our broad understanding of the third-party Etsy research tools, in the next module we’ll collate the core features and the available Etsy tools into one table so that we know which tools offer what features. We’ll also explore the features in more detail and see why we’ll focus only on the RESEARCH features going forward.
